One of the many Democrats elected to the Virginia Senate on Tuesday is a convicted sex offender and disbarred lawyer, according to Breitbart.
Joe Morrissey was jailed and lost his license to practice law after being convicted of having sex with his 17-year-old secretary. He pled guilty to a misdemeanor in the ensuing court case and served for only three months in a “work-release term.” He was also forced to resign from his seat in the Virginia House of Delegates, but then ran again in the special election to retake the seat and was re-elected.
Morrissey then went on to marry the girl in 2016, and she gave birth to their first child at 19. They now have three children together. Morrissey is 62.
Morrissey subsequently tried and failed to run for mayor of Richmond in 2016. Earlier this year, he ousted incumbent State Senator Rosalyn Dance for the Democratic nomination before going on to defeat independent candidate Waylin Ross in the general, with 64 percent to Ross’s 36 percent. No Republican ran in the election for Morrissey’s district.

Maybe Steve Cohen should move to Virginia – the land of the sex criminals. That might fit his definition of American values.
While I certainly oppose sex between an adult of either gender with a minor of either gender, you right-wingers are not the ones to talk when it comes to dealing with sex offenders or former sex offenders and their victims/survvivors. You have a President in the White House who has committed far more serious sex offenses than this Virginia Senator has. He has supported men and women like Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, Roy Moore, and Michelle Backmann’s female secretary who forced her children to submit to doing child pornography, etc. You rightists also supported the Nicaraguan so-called freedom fighters who turned out to be pedophiles and drug dealers.
Don’t pretend to be for victims’ rights and for “law’n’order”. You people don’t fool me.
